Winter Weather Predictions For 2009

Will winter weather predictions for 2009 turn out to be true or as with most predictions are the experts going to be way off? . With a new year already here many people would like to know what the up coming winter holds in store for them. Will there be more snow than usual with colder temperatures or are we in for a calm winter with little snow fall and above average temperatures. Of course a lot of it depends on where you live but with the topsy turvey weather we have been experiencing over the last decade it seems anything can happen almost anywhere.

Winter has just barely begun and already the northern parts of the United States have been hit with record snowfall and below average temperatures. Many people have already had to deal with the loss of power this winter season. So what is the National Weather Service predicting for the rest of the winter months? For the most part their data suggests that after a rough start to the winter most areas of the country should return to a more normal weather pattern. If your area is used to getting snow and colder temperatures than that is what you should expect for the rest of winter. Some areas of the country have experienced drier than normal conditions for the last several years. The southwest and southeast parts of the United States have been suffering under drought like conditions and it looks like these ares will continue to experience these drier than normal conditions. Average precipitation is forecast for the remainder of the country.

Whatever the winter months bring us weather wise it is best if one can enjoy each season as it comes along. Winter gives many of us a chance to slow down somewhat and spend more time with family and friends or catch up on that favorite hobby or craft we have been putting off. The long winter evenings are a great time to find the time to read all those books you have been putting off or watch those movies that you haven't seen yet. If you are not a big fan of winter just remember spring will be here before you know it.

We will not know until after winter is over if the winter weather predictions the experts have made will have come true or not. But whatever winter has in store for you try to enjoy it and remember it will be gone before you know it.
